This is the CHILDREN'S SHOW BONDING MEME!

How It Works:

1. Post a comment with the name of a kids' show you loved (or love) as the subject. (Yes, my journal's style has subject lines still.)

2. Go through the comments and find other shows you like/d listed, and comment on those threads! You can say anything from "Yes, this was great!" to going into why you liked it or your favorite character/episode/whatever.

3. Start a conversation. Maybe make a friend, or maybe don't. HAVE FUN!

You can post anything from shows you know will be really popular with people your age (Reading Rainbow!) to that show you barely remember and don't think anyone else watched (did you know there was a cartoon of Little Shop of Horrors?) or even currently-running shows (MLP: Friendship is Magic is an obvious one, but maybe The Backyardigans is your guilty pleasure).

I don't make fancy pimping graphics, but this post is public, so you can promote it in journals and communities if you wish.

I really liked it, but I hated the kids that would describe a book and then do this snooty, "But don't take myyyyy word for it."

I remember the episode when they showed Star Trek scenes or sets, and I was like, "LOLOLOL IT'S HIM."

Any day that we got to watch a Reading Rainbow episode in class was a good day. And of course, the entire class always broke out into song. "Take a look, it's in a book. A reading rainbow!"

I am completely fucking serious when I say if I ever get to some position of power in television, I want to bring this show back for college aged kids who never got the chance to answer weirdly sourced trivia for the chance to win ugly sneakers and mountain bikes and trips to space camp. I am completely serious. I want this show to come back. I don't care if Michael Bay reboots it. I don't care! XD

I AM VERY MUCH PRO YOUR IDEA. I JUST WANT TO SEE IF I CAN PUT TOGETHER THE SILVER MONKEY IN TIME OKAY.

My favorite part of watching that show now is laughing at how outdated the gifts are lmao. AND AS A KID, THEY ALL SEEMED SO COOL!

FUCK YEAH DUDE THAT'S JUST ILLOGICAL

Actually I was watching Wonderpets with the kids I watch the other day, and there's an episode with a chimp trapped in space, and they yell to him from their separate space ship, and I turned to the 3 year-old next to me and told him, "That wouldn't work, because sound doesn't travel through space."

Space facts are important.

From: [identity profile] asimplechord.livejournal.com
(We did not have cable when I was a kid. And we were allowed limited amount of TV time.)

I assumed that my twin sister and I would grow up to be like Bert & Ernie - living together, being best friends, hanging out all the time. It made the idea of becoming a grown-up infinitely more appealing.

Plus, Miss Piggy is AWESOME.

Was Alf technically a kids' show? I remember watching it as a child, but I think it kind of freaked me out. I mean, I know kids watched it, but I think it was aimed at adults, like Mork and Mindy or Dinosaurs - more of a sitcom that happened to involve a Muppet-type character.

Another television show I dreamed of being a contestant on as a kid. That glowing mountain was mesmerizing, and they won that neon green piece of the rock at the end. There was nothing I wanted more than that big neon green rock.
